Elayne Geba (she/her) is an Orthopedic and Pelvic Floor Physical Therapist and the primary physical therapist at Embody Physical Therapy in Waterbury, VT. Elayne is originally from Southern Illinois, but lived in the Philadelphia region from 2002-2024 (minus 3 years in California). She moved to her happy place in Waterbury, VT in the summer of 2024. Some highlights of her career include:
-BS in Health Science PT from Bradley University in Illinois (2002)
-Minors in Business Administration and Biology
-Doctor of Physical Therapy (DPT) degree from Temple University (2005)
-Certificate of Achievement in Pelvic Physical Therapy (CAPP-Pelvic)
-Board Certified Women’s Health Certified Specialist (WCS)
-Advanced training in manual therapy techniques including myofasical release & visceral mobilization
-Certified in Selective Functional Movement Assessment (SFMA)
-Adjunct lecturer at many Philadelphia area graduate physical therapy programs
-Adjunct professor of Anatomy & Physiology at Delaware County Community College
-Active member of the APTA including sections Academy of Pelvic Health Physical Therapy & Private Practice Section
-Previous experience as Program Coordinator & Mentor for both the Orthopedic & Women’s Health Physical Therapy Residency programs at the University of Pennsylvania
-Advanced clinician and certified clinical instructor mentoring students, residents and other therapists
-Provides lectures for community programs, such as “pregnancy & your body” and “how to treat yourself with muscle release techniques”
-Has clinical experience in large hospital systems and small, private practices in PA, CA & VT
-Over 15 years of extensive experience with patients with complex Orthopedic issues (pain or dysfunction in more than one body part) and pelvic floor issues
-Developed perinatal, pregnancy and postpartum program for local hospital system in CA
-Worked closely with world renowned gender affirming surgeons in CA
On a personal note, Elayne lives in Waterbury with her husband, Scott and son, Logan. She is often seen around town walking her wild 100lb Bernedoodle, Addie. She enjoys reading, jigsaw puzzles, and pretty much anything outdoors (hiking, skiing, mountain biking, picnics, concerts, disc golf - you get the idea…). She is a HUGE sports fan and loves cheering on all the Philly sports teams (sorry Boston fans). Go Birds!
